Kenisha’s highest and most cherished calling is the privilege of being wife to Luis Manuel and mom to six beautiful souls—Joseph, Micaias, and Jeremiah—and a blessed shared mom to Abimael, Charlotte, and Christian. For the past 25 years, she has passionately walked in a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, a journey that has shaped every part of her life. For over 21 years, Kenisha has been called to serve the wonderful community of Barahona in the Dominican Republic. The last 12 of those years, she and her family served full-time as missionaries, where she was entrusted with the role of Director of the Christian Hope Community Association (CHCA).

Teaching has always been at the heart of Kenisha’s ministry. She has taught in a variety of settings—from Sunday School, youth and women’s Bible studies to Montessori classrooms and homeschooling her three boys. Her experience spans both Canada and the Dominican Republic, including teacher training and now teaching within the Toronto District School Board. Kenisha believes her life’s journey is about serving others—a gift she considers the greatest calling of all. Her path has been filled with many victories, each marked by its own battle scars, but she remains deeply grateful for every experience and every challenge that has refined her faith. She looks forward with excitement and trust for the next chapters God has in store.

Special Projects Coordinator

Sandra Seigel has been serving with CHCA since 2015, beginning with group mission trips and gradually expanding her involvement. Over the years, she has contributed to marketing initiatives, led arts programs, and now supports a variety of projects and outreach efforts.

Through her work with CHCA, Sandra has experienced God’s immense love and care for His people firsthand. She has witnessed countless ways He performs miracles through the organization, and she feels deeply blessed to be part of this transformative work. Sandra is passionate about strengthening community connections, serving others with heart and creativity, and helping bring God’s hope and provision to those in need.

Advisory Board Member / Fundraising Coordinator

Colin Fleming is a husband, a parent and a life-long educator who has served in various roles in public education for 36 years. A former school principal, Colin started his current role with the Ontario Principals’ Council, providing advice, support and advocacy for principals and vice-principals across the province of Ontario. In May of 2020, God blessed Colin by connecting him with his wife, Angeline (Sharma) Gnanasegaram, one of the founders and also an Advisory Board member of CHCA.

Colin learned about CHCA and Eden Christian Centre through his relationship with Sharma, and eventually had the privilege to visit Eden in February of 2024. Prior to that trip to the DR, he experienced the beauty of Eden through words and pictures. Nothing could have prepared Colin for the personal impact of his in-person experience. With an immediate love for the children and a hunger to contribute, Colin felt the call to serve alongside Sharma, Kenisha and others. He accepted a nomination and joined the Advisory Board in the spring of 2025. Colin hopes to use his teaching, leadership and administrative skills to pour into Eden Christian Centre and bless the children and families of Villa Central, Barahona. Through his personal and professional network of friends, colleagues and associates, Colin is excited to spread the word about Eden, grow awareness of CHCA and help channel financial support to the community.

Co-Founder (Emeritus)

In 2002, Ishani Slocombe, a resident of Toronto, Canada, a woman passionate about the things of God at the age of 27 took a great leap of faith and visited the ministry of Pastor Paulino (Hogar Cristiano para Niños Huerfanos-HCNH), after experiencing a vision from the Lord regarding winning children’s soul into the Kingdom of Light, God touched her heart to partner with Pastor Paulino, working in Villa Central. Through her obedience, prayers, love and many sacrifices the new facility was constructed in 2005. Ishani’s obedience to her call is a direct influence on why so many people are now serving and are connected to this ministry, and to the success of the vision. Ishani is a vision caster – God has used her to vision cast what CHCA is today! With her continued love, wisdom and advice CHCA continues to impact and transform many lives. She has served on various Church Board (Rhema Missions, Global Kingdom Missions. Today, she is a wife and a mother of 2 who are all in preparation to move to the Philippines to do full-time ministry.

Advisory Board Member / Administrative Coordinator

Belinda is honored to serve as an advisory board member with Christian Hope Community Association (CHCA), supporting children and families through the provision of basic needs, education, and the transformative power of God’s Word. With over a decade of experience in social services, her passion lies in fostering hope, empowerment, and sustainable change for individuals facing challenges such as homelessness, poverty, and systemic barriers.

Her background as a social worker and entrepreneur includes leadership roles in youth services, the violence against women sector, housing programs, and community-based programming, equipping her with the skills to advocate for vulnerable populations and strengthen community partnerships. As a believer, Belinda is committed to integrating faith with action, ensuring that every child and family served experiences God’s love through tangible support and compassionate care. Outside of her professional work, Belinda cherishes time with family and friends. She enjoys live music, new experiences, learning, and physical activity, and remains dedicated to serving her community in meaningful ways. She looks forward to contributing to CHCA’s mission and seeing lives transformed through faith and service.

Co-Founder

In 2003, Sharma, a resident of Toronto, Canada, a passionate teacher with TDSB joined Ishani on her first of many missions trip to the DR! This trip was the seed to many more trips and a lifetime commitment to the people and children (and animals) of Villa Central Barahona. Sharma took her years of teaching and started planning curriculum, activities, resources, giving her time and most importantly her love to the vision and mission of CHCA. Sharma has served every summer for the past 20 years with the exception of the three years during the COVID pandemic. In Toronto, she continues to be the voice for the work we are doing on the field and through her passion and commitment many people have partnered and supported work we continue to do.

Spiritual Advisor

Marlene “Malou” Faublas was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. At a young age, her family moved to Colombia, South America, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. More than thirty-five years ago, she felt called by the Lord to serve as a missionary in the West Indies for the rest of her life. She has faithfully served in Cuba, Haiti, and for over twenty-eight years now in the Dominican Republic. Her ministry in the Dominican Republic has focused primarily on the bateyes—Dominico-Haitian communities—where she has dedicated her life to spiritual, educational, and community development.

Through her years of service, she has been blessed to witness lasting fruit from the work, including the formation of three medical doctors, two dentists, five teachers, numerous spiritual leaders, and many other transformed lives for and through the Kingdom of God. In addition to her service in the bateyes, she was called this past year to lead the Net of Intercessors in Barahona, serving across eleven municipalities. She also has the privilege of teaching and training the next generation of leaders in a variety of roles and capacities. For the past seven years, she has served as a spiritual advisor for CHCA, while also mentoring and equipping Kenisha in her role as a missionary and leader in Barahona.
